What did you want do to as a child?

Very cliché… I wanted to be an astronaut.

Why did you choose to embrace a Software Engineer job?

I really love computers. And I always told myself that I wanted to have a job that I love-doing things I love on a daily basis. So Software engineer studies were kind of obvious to me.

Why did you choose a Software consulting job?

I was kind of getting bored by the way, especially in France, people want you as an engineer to finally become a manager. I really didn’t want that. I wanted to be an expert in my field and I felt like a consulting company may give me more opportunities to do that.

What is your current engineering project?

Currently I’m working on building wireless audio earbuds; like Apple’s AirPods. In that mission, I’m optimizing working processes. Basically, I’m helping people to be more efficient at what they are doing.

How would you explain it to kids?

Usually what I say is that Software developers do programs for humans. But I do programs for machines.

What advice would you give to a future Software engineer?

Challenge yourself. Learn, learn, learn… And love your job. If you don’t love your job, you will fail.

Where do you see yourself in 3 years?

I hope to be still at Nalys, if things keep getting the way they are. I really enjoy the things I’m doing at Nalys right now so… It is a very fuzzy question for me.

What is the existing innovation you would have loved to create?

Self-driving cars. When I was a kid, that was something I really really loved. I was like: “ Why is there no self-driving car?” And when Tesla finally made the first actually self-driving car I was really excited! I wanted to do that.

What future exciting innovative product would you love to be part of?

Hummm… I’m a geek, so everything related to gadget, like things automatically driving or machines doing things on their own. I’m also interested about the aeronautic industry. So, something in one of those fields.

Tell us more about your passion

I run a lot. This is something I actually started doing 3 years ago. I did my first marathon last year, and I’m actually running the Brussels marathon next week. So yeah… I love running!

Do you have a secret talent?

I make mini-pizzas.

Any last word?

Winter has come…
