In 2016, the Nalys Institute of Technology (NIT) launched its first traineeship program. The idea was simple: create a training program for freshly graduated engineers and give them all the knowledge required to become efficient when working at a customer. 6 to 8 weeks of intensive training and a 6-month experience in a company, under the supervision of a Nalys coach.
The success of this program has been proven and since then, several traineeships have been developed and more sessions opened during the year. Today we have programs on automation for the Life Sciences industry, embedded systems and web applications. And probably more will follow in the coming years!
Based on discussions and interactions with different leading actors of the technology industry, we noticed that our customers have high expectations for Embedded Linux Software and Java Developers. Beside the academic background of software development, they are actively looking for talented people with the good way of thinking, hands-on approach to problems, and insights into how to develop 'good' software. Hence under the supervision of the Nalys Institute of Technology (N.I.T.) our experts developed tailored programs to meet this challenge.
Our current traineeship programs are tailored for engineers with less than 1 year of professional experience, yet who are keen to build a career in Embedded Linux Software Development, Web Applications or Automation in the Health environment. They all start with a 6 weeks period of intensive trainings. In addition to a common track gathering the main technical knowledge, our program follows specialisation tracks related to the current market. Our trainings are provided by experienced experts and official training institutes. Following the 6 first weeks, 2 weeks are dedicated to the realisation of a graduation project using the acquired skills.
To complete their course, our young engineers perform a 6 months project for one of the 50 Nalys exciting customers, under the supervision of a Nalys coach. Those small development projects permit to implement what has been learnt over the previous months. Furthermore, the projects are an excellent opportunity to discover new work environments and to work on projects which are usually done by most experimenced engineers. The Nalys coaches are also a real knowledge booster for our young engineers and their advice combined with the day-to-day project challenges are probably the best lesson you can get.
